Adoption

In March of 2005 I learned that I was pregnant. I was 18 at the time and my boyfriend and I had just broken up. We knew that marriage wasn't the right step for us.

I moved home to live with my Mom and after careful consideration I chose an adoption plan for my child. It was important to me that my baby have a family who was prepared for and waiting for a child. I wanted her to have the best possible chance at life and at the time, I wasn't the one to give it to her.

I stay involved in Samantha's life and her family has become like extended family to me. I love to speak on birthparent panels, blog about adoption (until I now I blogged at I'll Be Loving You) and educate people about the subject whenever possible.

To me, adoption is a beautiful thing.

Feel free to email me on the subject at xxluvya[at]hotmail[dot]com
{I plan to "spotlight" couples who are hoping to adopt on a regular basis. If you're interested, please e-mail me!}

My sister and I with Samantha at the placement. Roughest day of my life, wouldn't change a thing.
