In 2007 I decided to head up to Logan, UT with my younger sister Brit and my cousin Jackie for a year of college. I turned 21 the night after we moved into our new apartment. I had been asked not to return to the last university I had attended (which I returned from pregnant) and knew that I would be taking this year much more seriously.
brit and I at a cornmaze. we're always this lovely.
myself and jackie and our picnic. we tried to teach her to climb a tree...
The first couple of months I was still writing/IMing/emailing a guy I had been dating a year or so before that had moved out of state for work. At one time I had been convinced I would marry him but I was starting to doubt it and decided to look in other places. The next couple months I re-dated an ex boyfriend and dated a guy I met through a friend in Logan. I knew neither of them would turn into anything serious, but I was enjoying myself.
During all of this I was working as a cashier at a nice car wash. There were LOTS of guys working there; car washers, detailers, managers…but none of them interested me past watching ‘em work. ;) Haha. And then…the returned missionary came back to work after his two years serving for the LDS Church.
In February of 2008 Davin and I had our first conversation. He asked me if I wanted to “hang out” that night. I said yes. He was tall, dark haired and handsome, why wouldn’t I say yes!? Then he got nervous and started walking out the door. I yelled “wait! Do you want my phone number?” and he came back and got it from me. Silly boy.
from when we were dating. my dog looks like he hasn't had his beard cut in years? gross.
We went on our first date that night and I came home, lay in bed and told my roommate; “I’m going to marry that boy”. I think she thought I was crazy. All night I had “Going to the Chapel” stuck in my head. Ok, that’s as cheesy as this gets.
Davin swept me off my feet and six weeks, a shaky first kiss and lots of surprise gifts later (and two breakups with other guys) we were engaged. Yes, six weeks. I wouldn’t change it.
picking up the ring he has customized for me.
So there’s how we met. Not overly exciting…but that’s life. Next time I’ll tell you about our…interesting engagement period.
How did you meet your man/woman?

Six weeks.
It took my husband six years to propose. Yes, years.
I'm going to go yell at my husband now.
I love your story! Joe and I did things backwards! after a month of dating we decided to have a baby, and when i was 4 months pregnant we got married! lol!
So glad you found him! You are perfect!
My husband proposed in a little over 8 weeks.
9 weeks here..and you two are so cute
Love this!
Whoa! I'm already excited to read the 2nd part. :)
My husband proposed after dating a little over 1 1/2 years but I told him we were getting married on March 10th of the following year because it was the beginning of my Spring Break, so he had better propose soon. He listened. Ha!
I love that you shared this. I've already heard it but I love to read love stories. I hate to tell ours though, it's sooooooooo cheesy. My hubby loves the cheese.
You two are SO cute! i LOVE hearing/reading about how couples met and their engagement stories! thank you for sharing! your dog is cute too. What's his name? I am still single, so i dont have a story to tell....yet!! lol
I walked into CBI to apply for a job. Dave was sitting in his chair with his feet on the desk. One look at him and I knew I was going to date him. First day working together he hated me. Then I brought him lunch the next day and he figured I wasn't to bad. lol. 4.5 years later we decided to start planning the wedding, interupted by a pregnancy so the date got moved up a little bit (I didn't want to be 9 months prego and getting the married the day before I was due).
